Rosa Luxembourg Stiftung – Office in Greece, invites you to the presentation of the bilingual poetry anthology I woke up in a country / Ξύπνησα σε μια χώρα.
Data inform. Poetry motivates. Analysis can explain or provide arguments. Poetry digs deeper and raises emotions. The crisis hit people in a tender, productive age. Poetry offered them the means to express themselves, offered them a way out.
Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung gives the floor to fifty poets, who leave their emotional imprint of a common experience that changed the lives of those who live and come to live in Greece, the lives of those leaving Greece for a better place and of those who stay here, despite all.
It’s a message that carries the weight of experience, the filter of emotion, a direct message from one person to another. Because personal is political.
